Steelwork :
Cold-formed steel is fast becoming the material of choice, also called light gauge steel. Cold rolling itself is a steel forming process in which a sheet of steel is pressed through a pair of rolls to reduce thickness, increase strength and improve surface finish. The process happens at ambient temperature, below the steel?s recrystallisation temperature and changes the mechanical properties of the steel to produce uniform, lightweight steel with a high strength-to-weight ratio, this flattened strip is then hot-dip galvanised prior to it being cold formed to required section profiles.
Standard section sizes :
Light gauge galvanised steel ‘CEE’ sections of depths typically between 140-300mm and up to 3mm thick are used depending on the building size and application. Sections are manufactured to precise lengths and punches cut-out for bolted connections. Holes tolerances are provided for ?self-jigging? of the frame for dimensional accuracy (holes oversized 2mm to bolt sizes).
Cladding rails :
Purlin and side rails are ?ZED? sections 140-300mm or ?TOP-HAT? sections for smaller spans, manufactured from grade Z275 hot dip galvanised steel.

Cladding :
Choose from single skin cladding to fire rated composite panels (for insulated buildings) in a variety of coatings and colours. Due to building regulation requirements for industrial steel buildings we need to comply with the U-values requested by building control, we have thicknesses from 40mm to 130mm available. We can also meet all boundary fire regulation requirements with most of our insulated panels.
All cladding & flashings are supplied with a 25 year Manufacturer warranty
Single skin :
Steadmans AS Single-skin steel Cladding roof and wall system comprises hot dip galvanised steel profiles with standard 200LG Plastisol coating or Agri-Steel which is recommended for the agricultural market. The standard external weather sheets are 0.5mm or 0.7mm thick and come in a selection of colours. Anti-drip condensation lining is provided to roof sheets to prevent dripping and damage from condensation to stored items or equipment below. Roof pitch down to 4 deg or 6 deg if rooflights are required.Â
Composite insulated panels :
Environmentally friendly product with excellent thermal performance these Steadmans AS35 Composite Cladding Panels consist of two coated steel profiles bonded to a core of PIR insulation of between 40-130mm thickness. The external sheet is 0.5mm thick is a 200LG Plastisol coating that uses the latest UV resistance technology to ensure it offers robust protection, even in the most adverse industrial environments. The weather face is finished with a leather-grain emboss and comes in a selection colours. The internal liner sheet is 0.4mm thick and comes in bright white. The system includes all fixings and matching or contrasting sealants, guttering, flashings and rooflights. Roof pitch down to 4 deg or 6 deg if rooflights are required. Insulated panels provide the following U-values :-

Standard ?high volume? cladding colours :
Other colours available on request, however non-standard colours may incur extra cost and lead times. For the full range see the link below :

Slate Effect :
Meta-Slate Plus System is manufactured from 0.7mm galvanised coil with a slate blue matt nova paint finish to the outer surface and a grey epoxy based primer to the inside Designed to provide a natural slate effect but with the advantages of a lightweight, strong, durable material. Roof pitch down to 10 deg.
Â
Fibre cement sheets :
BBA approved corrugated environmentally friendly, asbestos-free, virtually maintenance free, reinforced fibre cement sheets available in a range of painted colours by Marley Eternit (only suitable on roofs). Resistant to chemical attack, rust, rot and corrosion, non-toxic.
Rooflights :
We offer a comprehensive range of in-plane Steadmans GRP rooflights as a  cost effective solution to providing natural light in buildings. With light transmission levels of over 80%, our GRP rooflights are ideal for retail, leisure, warehousing, industrial and agricultural projects.
Single, double and triple skin options are available in a variety of safety and fire ratings, enabling Steadmans GRP rooflights to be matched to specific project requirements. GRP rooflights consist of translucent GRP with a surface treatment which resists the degradation and discolouration resulting from prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light. GRP rooflight sheets are resistant to most common chemicals and will not corrode as a result of surface contacts with strong chemicals. Washing the surface of a rooflight sheet with water after contact with chemicals is recommended to extend its service life.
Grain-walling :
Grain wall panels are designed to form load bearing walls for the bulk storage of crops such as grain, wheat and rape. The panels are manufactured from hot dipped galvanised steel coil to BS EN 10346:2009 Fe E390G-Z275 with a minimum yield strength of 390N/mm2 and are designed for easy site assembly with a minimum of support steelwork. Concrete panel or blockwork walls can be used as an alternative.
Ventair metal wall cladding :
Developed to meet the agricultural industry?s need for really effective ventilation with louvres on both sides of the sheet this allows the airflow to increase to generate an even greater movement of fresh air. The combination of the Ventair metal wall cladding sheet with the absorbent qualities of anti-condensation lining sheet or fibre cement roofing sheet provides an effective guard against the build up of the corrosive cocktail of animal gases, waste and the condensation created by damp and humid conditions generated by over-wintering livestock. Ventair is not just limited to agricultural buildings, it can also be successfully specified for a variety of other applications where natural ventilation is required.Â
Timber cladding :
This can be overlaid to the steel building for aesthetics to satisfy Planning conditions if required, various options like a rough sawn timber feather edge board fixed over the composite steel cladding that gives a building the feel of a more traditional wooden structure.
Roller Shutter doors :
Our heavy duty galvanised steel roller doors are the most favoured choice for access options on our industrial, commercial & agricultural buildings however we can also provide sectional and sliding doors as well as offering single-skin or composite lath insulated roller doors as alternatives which are also very popular for domestic use. All roller doors have optional extras including plastisol powder coating to match or contrast cladding colours. Specific operational solutions can be tailored to your needs, from manual chain operated to fully electrically automated with key fobs or just simple key operated, the choice is yours.
